We offer midwifery services in collaboration with Carolina Women's Center and Dr. Michelle S. Quaye, MD. We are able to provide the benefits of midwifery care with the support of an obstetrician if complications arise during the pregnancy.
In our online store, you will find naturally made soaps, oils, vitamins, stretch mark cream, and breast-eeze for breastfeeding.
As a midwife of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, “affirm the power and strength of women and the importance of their health in the well-being of families, communities and nations. We believe in the basic human rights of all persons, recognizing that women often incur an undue burden of risk when these rights are violated.” Also the American College of Nurse-Midwives state, “We believe every person has a right to health care; We believe in the best model of health care for a woman and her family; We believe in the normalcy of women’s lifecycle events; And we value lifelong learning to provide competent midwifery practice.”
I am a native of the Upstate, raised in Greenwood, S.C. I am a wife, mother of two boys, and a grandmother of a precious little girl. I am the founder and owner of the Birth Connection, now Juniper Women's Health & Wellness. I graduated from Greenville Technical College in 1999 with an Associate Degree, worked in the Women’s Center at Self Regional Healthcare as a registered nurse for many years. In 2010, I decided to further my education and a graduate from Lander University with a bachelor's in science of Nursing and University of Cincinnati in 2012 with a master's in science of Nursing and a focus in Midwifery. I am board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board with an advance nursing license in South Carolina. I have participated in a variety of women’s health setting such as the home health, hospitals, and birth centers. I am also a CAPPA certified childbirth educator and have a special interest in education and anticipatory guidance during pregnancy. Working with expecting families is a true joy; helping them understand the changes in pregnancy, how to deal with the discomforts, offering choices in labor and supporting women, while truly empowering them.
I am originally from Anderson, SC but have called Greenwood home for many years. I am a mother of one wild little boy. I graduated from Lander University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. I started my career in critical care at Self Regional here in Greenwood. I also spent some time in post-anesthesia care, oncology and various settings as a travel nurse. Throughout my years of nursing, I have always felt a calling towards women's health. It wasn't until after my own pregnancy and delivery with a midwife that pushed me to pursue my calling further. I graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2020 with a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Women's Health. I am board certified by the National Certification Corporation with an advanced nursing license in South Carolina. I am excited to be partnering with women in this community from adolescents through menopause. My goal is to empower women to take part in their own health through education and a holistic approach.
Breastfeeding gives your baby more than just good nutrition. It also provides important substances to fight infection. Breastfeeding has medical and psychological benefits for both of you. Like anything new, breastfeeding takes some practice and with good support it can be achieved.
